How Stripe and Mo Work Together
Stripe works with Mo by acting as the payment infrastructure that collects money from backers, holds it securely, and then pays out creators—while handling compliance, identity verification, and fee routing automatically. It’s essentially the financial engine behind Mo our crowd savings platform.
How It Works
Mo use Stripe Connect, which is Stripe’s product designed for multi‑party payments—perfect for marketplaces, gig platforms, and crowd savings environments.
- It lets Mo accept payments on behalf of creators.
- It handles onboarding, verification, payouts, and compliance.
- It supports global payments and multiple currencies.
Step 1: Backers pay through Stripe
When a supporter contributes to a moment:
- Stripe processes the payment (credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, etc.).
- Funds are placed into a Stripe-managed balance associated with the campaign creator or the platform.
Step 2: Funds are held until the moment has arrived.
- A campaign reaches its goal
- A deadline passes
- A milestone is met
Step 3: Automatic payouts to creators
Once a Moment is ready for payout:
- Stripe transfers funds to the creator’s bank account.
- Payouts can be manual, scheduled, or instant, depending on your preference.
